Highlights of March 1st Hardisty Council Meeting.
Council heard from two delegations. The first was from Mr. Brian Betts who is a member of the Yellowhead East Central Health Advisory Council – he discussed the group and some of the great work they are doing in our region for our Health Care system (Thank You Brian). The second delegation was Ms. Kristen Nixon from the Allan Johnstone School Council – she discussed some of the upcoming project the group is working on and invited members of Council to attend their meeting. Council also advised Ms. Dixon that they would like to work with the group on projects in our Community. The Town of Hardisty has offered to assist the group with grant applications, promotion of events through Town newsletter, internet, signage, etc and willing to assist with other items the group feels are important to have community involvement.
Council made a motion to not conduct a municipal census at this time, but to look at it in the future.
Council tabled the Hardisty Library Budget pending further information from the Library Board and advise the Council representative to organize a meeting between Council and the Library Board to further discuss their budget.
Council approved the appointment of the following people to the Hardisty Community Hall Board based upon Deputy Mayor Piller’s recommendation Carol Bourque, Trudy Busk, Gail Kobitzsch, Tammy Maxwell, Deputy Mayor Piller will advise the candidates and the Hall Board.
