Highlights of December 14th Regular Council Meeting

Council dealt with a number of items at the last Wednesday night Regular Council Meeting and the last meeting of 2011.

Council conducted a public hearing on Bylaw 1174/11.
Council heard from a delegation of David Samm, Sarah Skinner, Natalie Stanley in regards to the Battle River Watershed Alliance.
Council approved the following Bylaws and made the following motions:
- Approved the appointment of Alan Parkin, CAO to the Battle River Watershed Alliance Stakeholder Advisory Committee.
- Conducted second and third readings and approved Bylaw 1174/11.
- Accepted the 2011 Municipal Emergency Management Agency Report as presented by the Director of Emergency Management – Alan Parkin.
- Accepted the Public Works Building Condition Report as conducted by Brian Peach, Public Works Foreman and Alan Parkin, CAO.
- Council approved Bylaw 1176/11, the Municipal Planning Commission Bylaw.
- Council approved Bylaw 1177/11, the Development Authority Bylaw.
- Council approved payment of the closing funds in the Hardisty Manor Account.
- Council approved appointment of Leslie McDevitt for a three year term to the Hardisty Library Board.
- Council accepted the November Financial Report.
- Council approved the 2012 pricing for residential and industrial lost owned by the Town of Hardisty, in preparation for the anticipated growth in the region due to upcoming major industrial capital projects.
- Council approved 2011 yearend reserve transfer and 2012 beginning year transfers.
- Council approved the 2012 to 2014 Strategic Priorities, Multi-Year Capital Plan 2012 to 2021, and the 2012 Interim Capital and Operating Budget as presented, in preparation for public input in 2012 prior to approval of final Budget documents.
- Council approved providing a letter of support in regards to the Parents for Fun In Flagstaff C.I.P. grant.
- Council approved Bronze sponsorship of the annual F.I.R.S.T. event to be held in Alliance on February 4th, 2012.
