January 5th, 2012 Council Highlights

The Town of Hardisty Council discussed the following items at their regular meeting of Thursday, January 5th, 2012.

Council heard from a delegation of the Hardisty and District Chamber of Commerce in regards to a request for $25 per business license to help support the chamber’s planned 2012 activities.

Council approved a revised Human resources Management Policy #1960.

Council instructed the CAO to send a letter to the Government of Alberta Human Services Department in regards to fire fighter hours of work.

Council made a motion to send two councilor’s and the CAO to the Battle River Watershed Alliance – Drought and Watershed Management seminar in Forestburg on February 29th.

Council instructed the CAO to make payment to the Hardisty chamber of $25 per business license to the Hardisty and District Chamber based upon business license sold at the end of January, February and March 2012, following submission of an approved 2012 Hardisty and District Chamber of Commerce budget.

Council made a motion to extend the existing fire agreement until December 31,2 012 with any amendments to be retroactive to January 1, 2012.

Council made a motion to send two members of Council the CAO, and Finance Office to the Brownlee LLP Emerging Trends Seminar on February 9th in Edmonton.
